We just dabbed the lead-testing kit on places where old paint has worn through in our old house and it came up positive. Our old bathtub came up as leaching lead too.
I’m not excessively worried – those patches were small. Our bathtub is, curiously, painted on the inside and only came up as positive in the small areas that that paint has chipped away (porcelain bathtubs are the next big thing as sources of lead poisoning go). And Ada has only begun crawling and tasting and licking. We’re going to talk to the landlord, test some more, take Ada to the doctors for a blood test. Standard panicky parent behaviour.
